Lynn, yes vital signs out of range for the patient should be addressed, however, I have found that some nurses forget. Alerts will also help the clinical manager or director of nursing with these alerts and if not addressed we can re-educate its importance.
The nurse on the case should have the common sense to escalate the situation.
