When using the same patient account/chart and discharging then readmitting using that same chart our admission date is changing to that next episode start date. How do we change it back to that original SOC date? Our first claim for previous episode on that same patient is creating a claim with the subsequent episode start date

Thank you for asking your question. When re-admitting a patient, please use the following steps for proper re-admission.

  1. Go to the Patients tab
  2. Choose Patient Charts
  3. On the left, filter to Discharged Patients to find the patient you want to re-admit and select the patient when found
  4. Click the Re-Admit button on the right of the patient’s chart
  5. Verify/Edit SOC, episode dates, and patient information
  6. Click Re-Admit

Patient admission periods can be updated from the Patient Charts page. The Admissions Periods tab will show the break down of each admission period and episodes associated with it.
